This seminar shows in clear and simple terms how to use and adjust sails for optimum performance under a wide range of conditions.  The seminar comes with a waterproof USPS Captain's Quick Guide written by North Sails and Student Notes

Sailors will be introduced to mainsail trim and shaping, headsail trim and shaping, rig types and tuning for safety and efficiency.  Both basic and advanced methods of trimming and tuning for cruising and racing sailing performance will be covered.

The seminar introduces the topic in a two hour session and provides material for participants to gain further background at their leisure.  There will be no exam for the seminars but participation in the seminar will be recorded.  Part of the Power Squadron's initiative, is to provide credentials at various levels of boating skills that could be used with insurance companies and companies that rent boats as evidence of the holders demonstrated boating skills.
